Tiles Terms of Use

Effective date: October 26, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Cowbrick Games, Inc. ("Cowbrick Games", "we", "us") about your use of the Tiles app and website (together, "Tiles"). By creating an account or using Tiles you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Tiles.

Questions: noah@cowbrickgames.com.

1. Who can use Tiles

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tiles. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you. You need an account to play, and you must give accurate information when you create it.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password private and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it. One person, one account; do not share accounts or use someone else's.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. If you delete your account, you will lose all of your progress, rewards and purchases. This includes your points, streaks, reward tiles, badges, hint tokens and any Puzzle Pass subscription time you have already paid for. Deletion cannot be undone, and purchases cannot be moved to a new account. Deleting your account does not cancel a Puzzle Pass subscription with Apple; cancel it in your Apple settings first.

3. The game

Tiles offers daily logic puzzles (currently Chicken Coop, Tidepools and Ghosts) in several modes, with points, streaks, cosmetic reward tiles, badges, friends and leaderboards. Puzzles, scoring rules, rewards and features change over time; we may add, change or remove any of them.

Points, streaks, tiles, badges and hint tokens are features of the game. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred to another person or account.

4. Puzzle Pass and hint tokens

Puzzle Pass is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks Hard mode and free use of the checker. Hint tokens are consumable items that let you use the checker without a Pass. Both are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system and are subject to Apple's terms.

If a purchase does not appear after a few minutes, use Restore purchases, then contact us with your Apple receipt.

5. Fair play

Tiles is a game between friends, and the leaderboards only mean something if everyone plays the same way. You agree not to:

We may remove content, reset scores or rewards, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may do so without warning when needed to protect other players or the service.

6. Your content

Your username, display name and any feedback you send are yours. By sending feedback (bug reports, suggestions, ideas) you give us permission to use it to improve Tiles without owing you anything. Usernames and display names are visible to other players; keep them appropriate.

7. Our content

Tiles, including its puzzles, artwork, reward tiles, names, logos and software, belongs to Cowbrick Games or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may use it only to play Tiles as these terms allow. You may not copy, sell, redistribute or make derivative works from it.

8. Beta and test versions

Parts of Tiles may be offered as a beta or through TestFlight. Beta versions may be unfinished, may change or stop working, and may lose data. Features available in a beta (such as test tools) may not be in the released app.

During a beta we may give you a complimentary Puzzle Pass and hint tokens so you can try the paid features. These are free gifts for testing, not purchases: they have no cash value, cannot be refunded, exchanged or transferred, and we may extend, shorten or end them at any time, including when the beta ends or the app is released. After the beta, Puzzle Pass and hint tokens must be bought through Apple as described in section 4.

9. Service changes and availability

We may change, suspend or stop Tiles or any part of it at any time. We try to keep Tiles available every day, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Daily puzzles depend on our servers; if they are unavailable, you may not be able to play that day's puzzle.

10. Disclaimers

Tiles is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that Tiles will meet your needs or be free of errors.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Cowbrick Games will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost rewards, or lost profits, arising from your use of Tiles. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tiles is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

12. Apple

These terms are between you and Cowbrick Games, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Tiles. If Tiles fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Cowbrick Games, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to Tiles, including product liability, legal compliance and intellectual property claims. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Ending these terms

You can end these terms at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if we stop offering Tiles. Sections 6, 7 and 10 through 15 survive the end of these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version at this address and update the effective date, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email. Using Tiles after a change means you accept the new terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
